Short Wildlife Escape into Kenya’s Premier Rhino Sanctuary
⭐ Safari Overview
Experience an action-packed 2-day safari to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s most celebrated private wildlife reserves. This short yet intense adventure offers exceptional rhino tracking, Big Five game drives, and a rare chimpanzee encounter, all set against the dramatic landscapes of Laikipia with Mount Kenya in the background.

Day 1: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary Drive Time: Approx. 3–4 Hours
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
07:30 hrs – Safari Departure
The adventure begins as you board your private 4×4 safari jeep and head north toward the wild heart of Laikipia. The urban skyline fades quickly, replaced by sweeping farmlands, rolling hills, and vast coffee, tea, and pineapple plantations. Along the way, pause to soak in the scenery, stretch your legs, and—if time allows—experience the vibrant energy of a local market.
As Mount Kenya rises majestically on the horizon, stop at the Equator crossing, standing between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres before continuing into true wilderness.
Arrival at Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Game Drive Begins
The moment you enter Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary, the safari intensity escalates. This world-renowned conservancy is a stronghold for endangered species and delivers exceptional wildlife density.
Track black and white rhinos within a highly protected sanctuary, then push deeper into predator territory where lions, cheetahs, leopards, jackals, and the rare African wild dogs roam freely. The open plains are alive with movement—zebras, hartebeests, gazelles, impalas, and towering giraffes, while hippos and baboons dominate the rivers and woodlands.
Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary Visit
Later, visit the famous Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where rescued and orphaned chimpanzees live in a natural, protected environment. This powerful encounter offers rare insight into wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.

Optional Adventure Experiences (At Extra Cost):
- Maasai Cultural Visit – Meet the Maasai people, learn about their traditions, warrior culture, and way of life
- Night Game Drive – Venture into the darkness for an electrifying nocturnal safari, where predators hunt and glowing eyes pierce the night
(Please consult your driver-guide to arrange optional activities.)
As the day winds down, return to your safari lodge or tented camp. Depending on your accommodation, you may witness wildlife gathering at a nearby waterhole under the stars—an unforgettable end to an action-packed day.
Day 2: Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary – Nairobi
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Please note that the exit game drive on Day 2 will be conducted en route, depending on the location of your lodge or tented camp within Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This arrangement is designed to avoid incurring additional park entry fees while still maximizing wildlife viewing opportunities during your departure from the conservancy.
Your driver-guide will always ensure the best possible game viewing experience within these parameters.
Early Morning Game Drive
Awaken to the raw sounds of the African bush—monkeys calling, birdsong rising, and perhaps the distant roar of a lion. Before breakfast, head out on a sunrise game drive, when predators are most active and the light is perfect for dramatic wildlife sightings and photography.
Return to camp for breakfast, then continue tracking big game across the conservancy, squeezing every last moment out of this extraordinary landscape.
Midday Exit Game Drive & Lunch
Enjoy lunch followed by a final exit game drive as you exit the Conservancy (this is subject to your accommodation location), offering last chances to spot elusive species and capture farewell images of Ol Pejeta’s iconic wildlife.
Depart for Nairobi, arriving in the early evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or preferred location.
