Important: All Visitors Must Apply
All visitors to Kenya, including infants and children, must have an approved eTA before starting their journey. Apply at least 2 weeks before travel. Applications can be submitted up to 90 days in advance.
How to Apply for Kenya eTA
- 1Visit the official government website (etakenya.go.ke) or use the "Kenya Travel Authorisation" mobile app
- 2Upload a high-quality scan/photo of your passport information page
- 3Capture or upload a recent selfie or passport-type photo
- 4Enter your home address, telephone number, and email
- 5Provide arrival/departure dates, flight numbers, and accommodation details
- 6Complete the general information, customs, and health declaration sections
- 7Upload your hotel/accommodation booking confirmation and flight itinerary
- 8Complete the payment using a credit or debit card
- 9Receive an acknowledgment email and payment confirmation
- 10Once approved (typically within 3 days), print the PDF eTA or save to your mobile device

Exemptions
No eTA Required (EAC Countries)
Citizens of East African Community countries do not need an eTA:

- • Holders of valid Kenya Permanent Residence permits
- • Holders of valid Kenya Work Permits
- • Holders of a valid East African Tourist Visa

Important Notes & Warnings
Apply Early
Submit at least 2 weeks before travel. Can apply up to 90 days in advance.
Single Entry
eTA is valid for one entry only. Exception: Multiple entries to EAC countries allowed within 90 days.
Accuracy is Critical
All details must match your passport exactly. Mistakes may require a new application and fee.
No Guarantee of Entry
An approved eTA is permission to travel. Immigration officers at entry have final authority.

Non-Refundable
