Why Soft-Sided Bags Only?
Safari aircraft (bush planes) have small, irregularly shaped luggage pods. Hard-shell suitcases cannot be manipulated to fit into these compartments.

Professional soft-sided safari bags are typically available for purchase at the airport terminal if needed. Alternatively, inform us in advance and we can help source one for you.

Must be fully collapsible to fit in aircraft hold.
Excess Luggage Options
Extra Weight Charges
If space is available, excess weight can be accommodated:
- Local flights: ~USD 3 + 16% VAT per kg
- Regional flights (Kilimanjaro/Entebbe): ~USD 4 + 16% VAT per kg
- Freight seat: Up to 75 kgs (165 lbs) at applicable child fare
Free Luggage Storage
CATS offers complimentary luggage storage at the airport terminal for passengers returning to the same airport after their safari.

We provide seamless transfers from your hotel or chosen location in Nairobi, Mombasa, Diani Beach, Malindi, or Watamu to the airport.
