2 Days Celebration Safari

## 3-4 Hours 7:30 am. Get ready for adventure as you hop into your private 4 x 4 Safari Jeep. As we travel through Laikipia County, we’ll be passing farms, coffee, tea, and pineapple plantations. We’ll pause to take in the lush fields and possibly visit a local market. We will also spot Mt. Kenya along our route and stop to note our crossing of the equator between the hemispheres. Ol Pejeta is celebrated for its enormously diverse wildlife. You’ll find endangered black rhinos in a specially protected sanctuary. Out on the plains we’ll be looking for lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and rare African wild dogs. Other sightings in this unusual reserve – hippos, monkeys, baboons, impalas, gazelles, zebras, and hartebeests. Known throughout East Africa, the park’s Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is the only natural home in Kenya for rescued and orphaned chimps. Here they are nurtured back to health and then set free in a large but protected setting. While at this busy reserve take advantage of several optional activities to fill out your experience. Visit the local Masai village for an encounter with these traditional herding people and learn about their culture and ceremonies. Ever go on a night game drive? Not many safari-goers have but you can at this private reserve. It’s a very different journey traveling through the dark, inky night only to see the glowing eyes of a leopard staring back at you! Please check with your driver/guide to arrange either of these optional activities. We’ll spend the night at your choice of Safari lodge or tented camp. Depending on your accommodation you may get views of a nighttime watering hole and the wildlife that gathers there.

You may be awakened by the early morning sounds of monkeys, chimps, or perhaps larger game like lions or elephants as they greet the new day. We’ll greet the day as well, taking a pre-breakfast game drive to see as many animals as possible under the golden light. Then, it’s breakfast time at our lodge or tented camp, with plans to track more big game throughout the morning. Lunch follows with a last look at Ol Pejeta as we enjoy a final game drive exiting the park. We’ll be back in Nairobi toward early evening and bring you to the place of your choosing. As promised, this unusual sanctuary has gifted us with generous sightings of many types of animals. From the small and endangered to the great and mighty, Ol Pejeta is a wildlife treasure.
