Nairobi National Park and City Tour
6:00 AM — Your private 4x4 Land Cruiser with pop-up roof arrives at your hotel as Nairobi stirs to life. Your driver-guide hands you a cold bottle of water and within minutes you are at the main KWS gate of Nairobi National Park — the only national park inside a capital city on the planet.
The gate opens and the urban world melts away. Open savannah unfolds before you, the Nairobi skyline shimmering on the horizon while a tower of giraffes crosses the dirt track ahead — the most iconic photograph in East African travel. Over the next three hours, your game drive navigates rolling grasslands, highland forest, and rocky ridges. Lions warm themselves on sunlit outcrops, endangered black rhinos browse in dense bush, zebra and wildebeest herds graze in vast numbers, and at the Athi River hippo pools you watch hippos grunt and jostle in the brown water while kingfishers flash electric blue between the banks. Your driver-guide knows every hidden corner and every favourite animal haunt.
By 9:30 AM you exit the park and drive to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, arriving just before the 11:00 AM public feeding. The wooden gates open and tiny orphaned elephants tumble out, ears flapping, trunks reaching for their milk bottles. Keepers share each calf's rescue story — pulled from wells, separated from poached mothers — and watching them play in the red-mud wallow, spraying each other with gleeful abandon, is enough to move even the most seasoned traveler to tears.
At noon you head to the nearby Giraffe Centre in Langata, where you climb to a raised platform and hand-feed endangered Rothschild's giraffes. Their long, dark tongues curl gently around food pellets in your palm as they lean in close enough for you to see every eyelash — a magical, tactile encounter.
Lunch is enjoyed around 1:00 PM at a restaurant in the leafy Karen suburb.

**🅰️ OPTION A — Karen Blixen Museum** 📍 *Open daily (including weekends & public holidays): 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM*
After lunch, a short drive brings you to the Karen Blixen Museum, the colonial farmhouse made famous by the film *Out of Africa*. You wander through rooms filled with original furniture, photographs, and first editions, then step onto the veranda where the Ngong Hills roll along the horizon exactly as Blixen described them a century ago. The surrounding gardens are peaceful, with coffee plants, indigenous trees, and abundant birdlife. Allow approximately 1–1.5 hours for the visit.
You are returned to your hotel by approximately 3:30–4:00 PM.

**🅱️ OPTION B — Bomas of Kenya** 📍 *Traditional dance show times:* - *Weekdays: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM* - *Weekends & Public Holidays: 3:30 PM – 5:15 PM*
After lunch, you head to Bomas of Kenya, a living cultural village representing Kenya's 42 tribes. Dancers in vibrant traditional dress perform high-leaping Maasai jumping dances, rhythmic Kikuyu harvest songs, and hypnotic coastal Swahili taarab — a rousing finale that celebrates the human spirit of this extraordinary country. Between shows, explore the traditional homesteads representing different Kenyan communities, open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
You are returned to your hotel by approximately 4:30 PM (weekdays) or 5:45 PM (weekends & holidays).
