1-Day Safari to Ol Pejeta Conservancy – A Journey into Conservation, Wildlife & Adventure
Set on the equator between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the sweeping Laikipia plains, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is one of Kenya’s most inspiring conservation success stories. Once a colonial cattle ranch, the land was transformed in the late 20th century into a pioneering wildlife conservancy, redefining how tourism, conservation, and community can thrive together. Today, Ol Pejeta stands as a global model for wildlife protection and sustainable tourism.
This is East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary, created to protect one of the continent’s most endangered species from extinction. Ol Pejeta is also internationally renowned as the last home of the northern white rhino, making every visit deeply meaningful—a chance to witness history and contribute directly to conservation.
Wildlife Without Compromise
Unlike many parks, Ol Pejeta offers an extraordinary diversity of wildlife within one compact ecosystem. Here, you can encounter the full Big Five in a single day—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—along with cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, eland, and countless antelope species. The conservancy is also home to rare species such as Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, and endangered wild dogs.
Ol Pejeta’s open plains, riverine forests, and acacia woodlands create dramatic and varied game-viewing landscapes, with Mount Kenya’s snow-capped peaks often forming a breathtaking backdrop.
A Safari with Purpose
What makes Ol Pejeta truly special is the sense that your safari matters. Behind every game drive lies cutting-edge conservation—anti-poaching units, community outreach programs, and research initiatives that protect wildlife for future generations. Every visit supports these efforts directly.
