Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Reserve
Approx. 5-6 hours
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Your CATS driver/guide will pick you up in Nairobi and escort you in a private 4×4 Jeep to the Masai Mara. En route, enjoy the rolling landscapes and Maasai villages. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge or tented camp, then embark on your first afternoon game drive to spot the Big Five and other wildlife.
Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Rise early for a full day of game drives. Explore the vast plains and rolling hills, searching for lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and countless other species. Optional activities include cultural visits to nearby Maasai villages or a sunrise hot air balloon safari over the Mara.
Day 3: Masai Mara – Serengeti National Park (via border crossing)
Approx. 4-5 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Depart early from the Mara and cross into Tanzania, heading to Serengeti National Park. Stop for lunch along the way. Upon arrival, relax at your lodge or tented camp, then head out on an evening game drive in this immense and wildlife-rich ecosystem.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Spend a full day on unlimited game drives with your CATS guide, discovering the Serengeti’s extraordinary wildlife. Spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeests, and smaller species like monkeys, baboons, and African wild dogs. Explore the rivers and marshes for hippos and crocodiles. Enjoy lunch amidst the plains before heading back for your evening rest.
Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
Approx. 3-4 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Depart Serengeti early for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a stop at Olduvai Gorge, a world-renowned archaeological site revealing early human history. Arrive at the crater rim and descend into the magical ecosystem of the Ngorongoro Crater. Spend the day tracking lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, zebras, flamingoes, and other wildlife. Return to your lodge for the evening.
Day 6: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara
Approx. 2-3 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, journey to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its pink flamingoes, acacia forests, and tree-climbing lions. Enjoy game drives through the park’s diverse ecosystem, spotting elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and birds. Overnight at your lodge or tented camp near the lake.
Day 7: Lake Manyara – Arusha / Nairobi
Approx. 2-4 hours
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Start the day with an early morning game drive for one last chance to see the wildlife. After breakfast, travel back to Arusha or Nairobi, stopping along the way for lunch and scenic views. End your 7-day adventure with memories of unforgettable landscapes, wildlife, and cultural experiences.
