Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara

Approx. 2½ Hour Drive | Meals: Lunch & Dinner

7:30 am – Your CATS driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel, residence, or airport in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep.

En route, pass through Maasai country and observe herders tending their cattle. Arrive at Lake Manyara National Park, where cobalt-blue waters meet the bright pink flocks of flamingoes. Explore acacia forests filled with elephants, giraffes, impalas, wildebeests, and active troops of baboons.

Don’t miss the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, often seen lounging lazily on the branches. Evening and overnight at your Lake Manyara lodge or tented camp.

Day 2: Lake Manyara – Serengeti

Approx. 4 Hour Drive | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Rise early to enjoy the cool morning wildlife activity and a game drive before breakfast. Depart for the Serengeti National Park, stopping for lunch along the scenic route.

Arrive in the Serengeti, home to vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and some of Africa’s largest lion populations. Begin your unlimited game drives, spotting topi, hartebeest, waterbuck, and more. Overnight at your Serengeti lodge or tented camp.

Day 3: Full Day in the Serengeti

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti’s vast savannahs. Depending on the season, witness:

  • February–March: Calving season, with up to half a million wildebeests and zebras.
  • July–October: The Great Migration, with millions of animals moving toward the Masai Mara.

In addition to large herds and big cats, explore marshes and forests for hippos, crocodiles, baboons, monkeys, and the rare African wild dog. Overnight again at your Serengeti accommodation.

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro

Approx. 3 Hour Drive | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Depart early, stopping at Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s richest archaeological sites, with fossilized tools and artifacts of early humans.

Arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Descend into this self-contained ecosystem, teeming with lions, leopards, buffalo, black rhinos, zebras, antelopes, flamingoes, and more. Enjoy a crater-side lunch and game drive.

Return to the rim in the late afternoon for an unforgettable Ngorongoro sunset. Overnight at your Ngorongoro lodge.

Day 5: Ngorongoro – Tarangire OR Lake Eyasi

Approx. 3 Hour Drive | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Early morning sunrise at the crater rim, then depart for either:

  • Tarangire National Park: Known for huge elephant herds, unusual baobab trees, and over 250,000 animals across savannahs and forests.
  • Lake Eyasi: Experience the culture of indigenous bushman tribes who have lived here for thousands of years—a rare cultural safari.

Evening and overnight at your Tarangire or Lake Eyasi lodge/tented camp.

Day 6: Tarangire/Lake Eyasi – Arusha

Approx. 2–3 Hour Drive | Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Rise early for a final morning game drive, taking in elephants, zebras, big cats, and other wildlife. Depart for Arusha, stopping for lunch and scenic views along the way.

Arrive in Arusha in the afternoon and be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or airport. End your six-day adventure with memories of wildlife, landscapes, and cultures that will last a lifetime.
