Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Ngorongoro
Approx. 3½ Hour Drive | Meals: Lunch & Dinner
7:30 am – Your CATS driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel or preferred location. Board your 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep and travel through Maasai country, spotting herders in traditional colorful wraps tending their cattle.
Arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater rim and take in panoramic views of this natural wonder. Descend the steep crater walls into a vibrant ecosystem where over 25,000 animals roam freely. Expect to see lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalo, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and pink flamingoes.
Lunch at Lake Magadi offers the chance to observe hippos, ostriches, cranes, and flamingoes up close.
In the late afternoon, ascend back to the crater rim for a breathtaking African sunset before heading to your Ngorongoro lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Ngorongoro – Serengeti National Park
Approx. 3-Hour Drive | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Early risers can enjoy a stunning Ngorongoro sunrise from the crater rim before departing for the Serengeti.
On the way, stop at Olduvai Gorge, where ancient fossils and artifacts reveal the origins of humankind. Your guide will share insights into the tools, culture, and evolution of early humans—a truly remarkable experience.
Continue to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s largest and most iconic reserve. Vast plains and sparse trees are home to immense herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle, as well as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
Arrive at your Serengeti lodge or tented camp in the evening and relax after a day of awe-inspiring sights.
Day 3: Full Day in the Serengeti
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Today is dedicated to unlimited game drives across the Serengeti’s iconic plains. Witness the extraordinary variety of wildlife, from the Big Five to smaller species like monkeys, baboons, honey badgers, and wild African dogs.
Explore the park’s rivers and marshes for hippos, crocodiles, and a stunning array of birdlife. Serengeti is alive at every turn, offering endless opportunities for wildlife photography and unforgettable encounters.
Return to your Serengeti accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Serengeti – Arusha
Approx. 2-Hour Flight | Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Rise early for a final Serengeti game drive, catching the big cats and other wildlife in the cool morning light. Enjoy a hearty breakfast before transferring to the nearby airstrip for your scenic flight back to Arusha, landing around midday.
A CATS driver will meet you and provide drop-off at your hotel, residence, or airport.
