Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Park

Distance: 250–300 km | Drive Time: Approx. 5–6 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Your safari begins early at 5:00 am, when your driver-guide collects you from your preferred location in Nairobi. As the sun rises, watch the countryside awaken—fields glowing softly in the morning light.

We’ll stop for breakfast in the lively town of Narok, then continue toward the Mara, passing rural homesteads and, occasionally, Maasai herdsmen wrapped in their vibrant shukas. Arrival at Masai Mara National Park is expected around mid-morning.

Before you lies one of the most celebrated wildlife ecosystems on Earth—a vast landscape of rolling hills and endless savannahs teeming with life. Over the next two days, you’ll enjoy immersive game drives in search of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and more than 95 species of mammals that call the Mara home.

Lunch will be enjoyed picnic-style near the Mara River, the dramatic stage of the Great Migration between July and October, when countless wildebeest and zebras make their perilous crossing.

After an afternoon of wildlife encounters, you’ll head to your selected safari lodge or tented camp to relax, freshen up, and enjoy dinner as the African night settles in.

Day 2: Masai Mara National Park – Nairobi

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Safari mornings start early—and for good reason. As dawn breaks, the Mara comes alive with movement and sound. This is the perfect time to capture stunning photographs as golden light sweeps across the plains.

After breakfast, continue exploring the park on guided game drives. If there’s a specific area or wildlife you’d like to focus on, simply let your guide know—they’ll tailor the experience to your interests.

Optional experiences are also available. You may choose a cultural visit to a Maasai village, where you’ll meet local families, learn about traditional customs, and gain insight into their pastoral way of life.

For a truly unforgettable experience, consider a hot air balloon safari at sunrise. Floating silently above the Mara offers a breathtaking perspective few travelers ever see. Your guide will be happy to assist with arrangements.

Your journey concludes with a final game drive as you exit the park. On the return to Nairobi, enjoy scenic stops and views of the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpments.

Arrival in Nairobi is expected in the early evening, with drop-off at the location of your choice.

From all of us at Collective African Safaris, thank you for choosing to explore Africa with us. We hope this journey inspires many more adventures into the wild. Until next time—karibu tena.
