Safari Booking Deposits and Payments
Upon confirmation of your safari tour with CATS, a deposit of your total quoted price is required. The remaining balance is payable prior to or at the start of your safari.
Deposit Requirements by Safari Duration:
- 1-day safari/tour: No deposit required
- 2–3 day safari/tour: 20% deposit per person
- 4–6 day safari/tour: 30% deposit per person
- 7–12 day safari/tour: 40% deposit per person
- Combined Kenya & Tanzania safaris / Tanzania safaris: 50% deposit per person
- Last-minute bookings (5–1 day prior to safari start): Full payment required
Ways to Pay
- Credit/Debit Card: Online or at our office. No additional charges. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Amex.
Please Note:
CATS bank accounts are located only in Nairobi, Kenya. We do not operate accounts in any other city or country.
Refund Policy for Safari Bookings
Safari/tour deposits are refundable, less any cancellation fees charged by hotels or service providers, as outlined below:

| 40 – 14 days | 20% of safari tour deposit |
| 13 – 6 days | 30% of safari tour deposit |
Note: Refunds will be processed within 60 days of official cancellation notification. The refund amount will exclude administrative costs and will comply with the policies of contracted suppliers.
What’s Included in Your Safari Cost
The following are included in your CATS safari package:
- Hire of a 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep for safari transport
- Experienced driver/guide as per your itinerary
- Meals during safari
- Accommodation at lodges, tented camps, or hotels
- Entrance fees to national parks and game reserves
Safari Transport
- Safari vehicles are pop-up top 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeeps, assigned based on itinerary and group size.
- The company reserves the right to use subcontracted vehicles of the same standard.
- Multilingual guides (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish) available upon request.
Safari Accommodation
- Prices are based on two people sharing a twin room or tent. Single rooms are available at an additional single supplement.
- Lodges/camps are categorized by economy, comfort, or luxury, and your accommodation will be confirmed in advance.
Alteration and Cancellation of Tours
- CATS reserves the right to alter itineraries or cancel tours due to unforeseen circumstances.
- The company may decline or remove any person from a tour at any time, in which case a pro-rated refund will be issued.
- Prices are based on prevailing tariffs and operational costs at the time of publication.
Liability
- CATS acts as an agent for tours, transport, and services, and is not liable for injury, delays, loss, or damage.
- Liability for passengers in company vehicles is governed by the laws of the country in which the tour occurs.
- Subcontractors may be employed for all or part of the services.
- CATS is not responsible for loss or damage to luggage.
Handling Complaints During Safari
- Any complaints must be reported immediately to your tour manager (via email or WhatsApp) for on-site verification and resolution.
- If unresolved on-site, a written summary should be submitted to CATS within 30 days of safari completion.
- All formal complaints will be investigated and addressed within 30 days of submission.
